Form, deadline and place of submission

The period for submission of applications, together with the additional documentation required, runs from 8 May 2024 until 23:59:59 Central European Time (CET) (UTC+1:00) on 25 November 2024.

The processing of the registration form and the submission of the annexed documentation (set out in the following section) will be carried out electronically on the website www.pianoiturbi.com.

The registration form will include information about the titles of the works proposed to be performed in each of the four rounds of the competition and the approximate duration of the works (“repertoire” or “programme”).

The form must state that an authorised official of the Diputación de Valencia is authorised to formulate the application for grants and participation in the competition.

Furthermore, the following five circumstances must be declared under responsibility, as requirements for admission to the competition:

  1. To be familiar with and accept the terms and conditions of the competition.
  2. Not having received classes from members of the Jury (including master classes) during the two (2) years prior to the start of the competition, i.e. from 4 June 2023 (inclusive); as well as the commitment not to receive them between the publication of this call for applications and the start of the competition.
  3. The details of the place and date of the recording provided for the pre-selection process are true and correct, and the fact that the identity of the person recorded and the applicant is the same.
  4. The details provided regarding tax residence are true and correct.
  5. Not be subject to any of the circumstances set out in Article 13.2 of the General Subsidies Act 38/2003, of 17 November, which is an essential requirement for beneficiaries of the awards.

Attached documentation

Applications must include the documents listed below:

  1. Official document (passport or national ID) stating the date of birth and nationality of the applicant.
  2. Curriculum vitae indicating academic and artistic qualifications, a summary of his/her musical studies (with mention of the teaching staff), participation in international competitions, most important performances, musical recordings and radio or television recordings.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from leading personalities in the world of music, with contact information (telephone and email).
  4. Official or private documents that the applicant considers of interest for his/her candidacy (international awards, reviews, recordings, etc.)
  5. A photograph.
  6. A recording for the pre-selection phase: The registration form must include the URL where an audiovisual document can be viewed, preferably in high-resolution HD, in which the applicant will perform a free programme of between 20 and 30 minutes, which will be evaluated by the technical pre-selection body. The repertoire may include works proposed by the applicant in the event of being selected for the competition phase. The link must be available for viewing and downloading until 31 January 2025. Each of the works performed must have been recorded in a single take, without cuts in the performance, so that the face and hands always appear visible. The recording must have been made after 1 January 2024. Compliance with these circumstances must be responsibly declared on the application form.

If, after registration, it is established that any of the documents or data declared are false, the application will be automatically annulled.

Processing of personal data

The personal data provided by the participants will be processed by the Diputación de Valencia exclusively for administrative purposes and for the fulfilment of the public interest, promotion of music, which is the purpose of the competition. Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, opposition, limitation and portability of personal data, if applicable, by sending their request to the Registry Office of the Diputación de Valencia, whose address is located at C/ Serrans, núm. 2, 46003 València, or through its electronic office: https://www.sede.dival.es. The foregoing is without prejudice to the guarantee of other rights and compliance with obligations provided for in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and in Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights.
