Jiyoung Kim
Jiyoung Kim is a South Korean pianist based in Germany. She has received top prizes at major international competitions, including 3rd Prize at the Maj Lind International Piano Competition, and awards from the Jacob Flier, Munich Steinway, Mendelssohn, Tallinn, Bösendorfer USASU, Shigeru Kawai, and Tchaikovsky Young Musicians competitions, as well as the Pnina Salzman Award.
She made her solo debut at Carnegie Hall and has performed in leading venues such as Gewandhaus Leipzig, Konzerthaus Berlin, Estonia Concert Hall, and Seoul Arts Center. As a Gyeonggi Young Artist and artist-in-residence, she has been praised for her musical depth.
After her orchestral debut at age 9, Kim has performed with major orchestras including the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Helsinki Philharmonic, and others. In 2024, her recording of Scriabin’s Études Op. 8 and Ravel’s Miroirs was released.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and completed her Master’s and Meisterklasse in Munich. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in New Music in Munich with Prof. Antti Siirala and a Meisterklassenexamen in Leipzig with Prof. Gerald Fauth.
