The pianist will also be part of the Artistic Committee of the 23rd Iturbi Competition, to be held in 2025.
Ana Guijarro, one of the outstanding pianists of her generation, will once again be part of the piano festival and international competition that, organized by the Diputación de Valencia (Provincial Council of Valencia), seeks to perpetuate the memory and legacy of the great Valencian pianist José Iturbi. She will do so as Artistic Director of the 3rd Iturbi Festival, which will be held in June 2024, and as member of the Artistic Committee of the 23rd Valencia Iturbi International Piano Competition, scheduled for 2025.
The pianist from Madrid already participated as a member of that committee and jury in the 21st and 22nd editions of the Iturbi Prize, held respectively in 2021 and 2023, the latter with the victory of the young Italian pianist Elia Cecino.
She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with Antonio Lucas Moreno and Carmen Díez Martín (the teacher who most influenced her). She then continued her studies in Rome under Guido Agosti and at l’École Normale de Musique in Paris with Marian Rybicki. She gave concerts from an early age, both as a soloist and with chamber music groups, as well as concertos with an orchestra. She has played at prestigious theatres and concert halls in the major European cities, as well as in Canada and the United States.
She has been a jury member at major piano competitions and was chair of the Jury and member of the Advisory Board of the Jaén International Piano Competition for four years, from 2012 to 2015.
