THE ITURBI COMPETITION WILL AWARD €88,000 IN PRIZES

The Iturbi Prize, organised by the Provincial Council of Valencia, will award a total of €88,000 to the winners of the Valencia International Piano Competition, which will be held between 4 and 14 June at the Palau de la Música in Valencia.

The pianist who wins first prize will receive €30,000 and a contract to record a CD. The second prize is worth €20,000 and the third prize €10,000. In addition, the pianists awarded the first three prizes will take part in a concert tour to be held in 2026 in the province of Valencia and other cities to be announced shortly.

The other three finalists who do not reach the grand final will receive €5,000 each, and the best of the three will receive an additional €3,000.

The competition rules also establish several Special Prizes. The Provincial Council of Valencia will award a prize for the best performance of Spanish music (€2,000) and a prize for the best performance of a piece by Chopin (€2,000).

For its part, the Valencia Philharmonic Society will award a prize of €2,000 for the best performance of a Mozart sonata and a recital to the winner of the first prize. Kawai-Spain will award another €2,000 for the best performance of a Beethoven concerto.

Finally, CLEMENTE PIANOS are sponsoring an audience prize chosen by the public, worth €2,000.
